Reed Statement on Passing of Lou Fazzano
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, after the passing of Louis A. Fazzano, 98, a prominent business leader and civic-minded citizen, U.S. Senator Jack Reed issued the following statement:
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Louis A. Fazzano. Rhode Island has lost a great business and community leader and I have lost a dear friend. Lou was committed to public service and uplifting others. He gave generously of his time, talent, and resources to make Rhode Island a better place for all.”
Mr. Fazzano was the Treasurer and Director at Imperial Knife in Providence; a former Director of the Rhode Island Department of Economic Development; and a former President of Rhode Island Hospital after fourteen years as a trustee. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Citizens Financial Group; the Providence Chamber of Commerce; and was Vice Chairman of the Rhode Island Convention Center. He served a term as the interim President of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD); and was a member of the Board of Trustees for the Newport Public Library.
