Reed Statement on Mueller Agreeing to Publicly Testify Before Congress on July 17
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, after it was announced that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller will publicly testify in front of the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees on July 17 following a subpoena, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), an ex officio member of the Senate Intelligence Committee who has long called for Mr. Mueller to testify before the American public, issued the following statement:
“This is a long overdue step toward getting at the truth. I know Special Counsel Mueller is a reluctant witness, but the American people deserve to hear directly from him. The information in his report is too important to be ignored.”
