PROVIDENCE, RI - U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) today released the following statement on the death of former Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK):

"My heartfelt condolences go out to all the families of the victims of the Alaska plane crash, and particularly to the family of my former colleague, Ted Stevens. Senator Stevens will always be remembered for his passionate advocacy on behalf of the people of Alaska, and for his service as a pilot during World War II. Senator Stevens was a major force in the U.S. Senate for many decades and he will be missed."
