WASHINGTON, DC – Today, after ten employees of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo and two policemen were killed in a shooting attack in Paris, France, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), the Ranking Member on the Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement:

“This terrorist attack on free expression should be resoundingly condemned by all.  Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.  We stand with the people of France in upholding free speech, liberty, and democracy.  This type of violence is unjustifiable and the perpetrators must be held accountable.”
