Reed Assists RIers with Loved Ones in Israel, Provides State Dept. Resources for Those Who Need Additional Help
WASHINGTON, DC – In the wake of the October 7 attacks by militant Hamas terrorists on Israel, U.S. Senator Jack Reed and his constituent casework team are working to assist Rhode Islanders with relatives and loved ones in Israel and provide critical information and U.S. State Department resources to those seeking help.
“I make it my mission to assist Rhode Islanders traveling abroad. If any Rhode Islanders or their family members are in Israel and need emergency assistance, I am here to help,” said Senator Reed. “My office has been in contact with several Rhode Islanders who traveled to Israel recently, and we’re working to ensure they’re connected with the State Department.”

According to the White House, at least 14 Americans were killed during the terrorist attacks by Hamas, and there are believed to be 20 or more Americans currently missing, including some believed to have been taken hostage by Hamas.
Reed condemned the attacks by Hamas and expressed his support for Israel in its efforts to defend itself.
