Reed: Advancing Budget Resolution Clears a Key Procedural Hurdle Toward Passing a Comprehensive COVID-19 Relief Package
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) issued the following statement on the budget resolution clearing key procedural hurdles in the U.S. Senate:
“The American people voted for change and expect the federal government to do a better job combatting the COVID-19 pandemic than the previous Administration. Today, the Senate took an important step toward providing the funding to deliver vaccines, safely reopen schools, and help our reeling economy. We will work in good faith and I hope responsible Republicans join us. But the time for half-measures is over. Moving the reconciliation process forward is a necessary step to ensure that we deliver for the American people.”
