Senator Reed visited the West Bay RSVP Senior Corps program. Founded in 1966, West Bay Community Action is a charitable organization serving the people of Kent County and helping provide them with food, utilities, health, safety, and education. Senator Reed, a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, has helped secure over $72,000 in federal funding for West Bay Community Action through Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) Senior Corps RSVP grants. Over all, current Senior Corps projects in Rhode Island have received nearly $1.8 million in federal funds. During the visit, Senator Reed met with staff, volunteers, and seniors.
