Senator Reed visited Colt Andrews Elementary School in Bristol to celebrate the school’s federal designation as a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School. The U.S. Department of Education awarded the National Blue Ribbon to Colt Andrews Elementary School for making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap, which makes them among the state’s highest performing schools in closing achievement gaps between a school’s student groups and all students over the past five years. Nationwide, just 349 schools earned National Blue Ribbon Schools status for 2018, including three in Rhode Island.
