With the vote on Trumpcare looming in the U.S. Senate, U.S. Senator Jack Reed joined with child advocates, educators, and pediatricians to outline how Trumpcare cuts would jeopardize children’s health and education funding in local school districts. The event was held in Burnside Park in Providence. Other speakers included Elizabeth Burke Bryant, Executive Director of Rhode Island Kids Count, Pediatrician Dr. Patricia Flanagan, Congressman David Cicilline, Providence Public School Department Chief Academic Officer Tom Flanagan, and others.
