In honor of Women’s History Month, Senator Reed and the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island teamed up for a Women’s History Month Roundtable at the Providence Public Library. The theme of this year’s Women’s History Month was “Honoring Trailblazing Women in Labor and Business.” The roundtable celebrated the impact of women in labor and business in Rhode Island and nationwide.
The roundtable featured a presentation and discussion with a panel of distinguished Rhode Island women entitled “Women Leading the Way in Labor and Business.” Panelists included Sierra Barter, CEO and co-founder of the Lady Project; Maureen Martin, Secretary-Treasurer of the Rhode Island AFL-CIO/Director of Political Activities at the RI Federation of Teachers and Healthcare Professionals; Tejal Tarro, Chair of the Rhode Island Commission on Women; and Jennifer Silbert, Senior Project Manager at Opportunity@Work.
