As a Senior member of the Banking Committee, Senator Reed is a leading voice on economic issues facing America's families. Throughout his career, Reed has supported responsible fiscal policies to help create jobs, expand our economy, and reduce our national debt. Senator Reed believes that the Administration must do more to get our fiscal house in order. He recently convened a panel of experts, including former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, to discuss how to restore fiscal discipline to the federal budget, while creating more broadly shared prosperity for American families. Reed has also supported initiatives to invest more in hard working families and create greater economic opportunities for every American. He opposes irresponsible tax giveaways and supports focusing tax breaks on the middle class and investing in job training and education programs that will help us sustain a healthy economy.
